How long have you been training dogs? 25 years... This does not include all the years that the poor family dogs had to suffer because as a kid I thought I was a dog trainer. What breed(s) do you currently own? Border Collie, Aust. Cattle Dog, & Mixed breed What breeds have you had in the past? Border Terrier, Mix breeds, Beagle, Border Collies, Aust. Cattle Dog What are your training goals? To keep moving forward with new methods of training. I like to keep raising the bar so I keep improving. What do you like best about working for D.O.G.? It is an environment that allows me to try new training methods. What dog sports are you interested in? Herding cattle and sheep What other (if any) hobbies or interests do you have? Playing farmer What is your proudest dog related accomplishment? Competing in Border Collie sheep/cattle herding trials with my Australian Cattle Dog "Nikki". When she was in her hey day, those Border Collie guys did'nt like to see us show up. No self-respecting Border Collie owner wants to get beat by a lousy "Heeler", trained by a city slicker, wearing tennis shoes and shorts... Why should people come to D.O.G. to train their dogs? Our trainers offer methods of training that the general public can do and feel good about. I think D.O.G. in general tries to give people the tools they need to have a happy and productive life with their dog. |
